Day 1: Arrive to Phnom Penh

Day 2: Day tour Phom Phenh & Killing Feld (B/L)

08.00h: The tour guide will pick you up for the city tour You will visit the Silver Pagoda which is named after the 5000 silver tiles covering the floor. There is also a delicate emerald Buddha made of baccarat crystal which gives the temple its Khmer name of Wat Preah Keo, meaning Temple of the Emerald Buddha in English.

Next is a visit to the notorious Tuol Sleng Museum. In 1975 Tuol Svay Prey High School was taken over by Pol Pot's security forces and turned into a prison known as Security Prison 21 (S-21). It soon became the largest such center of detention and torture in the country. More than 17.000 people held at S-21 were taken to the extermination camp at Choeung Ek to be executed. Visit the Russian Market (Psah Tuol Thom Pong), a lively outdoor market where you will find antiquities, silver and gold jewelry, gems, silk, kramas, stone and wood carvings, as well as T-Shirts, CDs and other souvenirs.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

Then travel out of town to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. Many prisoners from Tuol Sleng followed this same route to their final fate. The remains of 8,985 people were exhumed from mass graves and are now respectfully enshrined in a memorial.

Note: National Museum, Silver Pagoda and Royal Palace are open every day. However, the Silver Pagoda and the Royal Palace may be closed without prior notice while H.M. the King is in the residence.

17.00h: Arrival back to your hotel.

Day 3: Phnom Penh - Sihanoukville

0900h: The driver and guide will meet you at your hotel and you can begin your drive by private air conditioned vehicle to Sihanoukville.

1300h: Arrive to Sihanoukville where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in.

Day 4: Sihnoukville - Relax

Spend a day relaxing on the beach or exploring the town area.

Day 5: Sihanoukville – Siem Reap

Enjoy a relaxing morning at the hotel or on the beach until time to check out depart for Siem Reap.

1230h: Your driver will meet you at your hotel and transfer you to the Sihanoukville airport to board your 1430h flight to Siem Reap.

1530h: Arrive to Siem Reap where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in.

Day 6: Siem Reap - Angkor Wat Temple

0730h: After breakfast your English speaking guide will meet you at your hotel and you will leave to visit the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor, Angkor Wat.

The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians, to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Angkor Wat's five towers symbolize Meru's five peaks and the enclosed wall represents the mountains at the edge of the world. The surrounding moat is to represent the ocean beyond.

Lunch at local restaurant and in the afternoon and visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century). See the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and Bayon Temple (unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara).

Overnight in Siem Reap

Day 7: Siem Reap – Tonle Sap Lake

0830h: After meeting your guide at the hotel you will depart to visit the Khmer Village and enjoy the views of rice fields & palm trees while you take in the fresh air.

Next you will take a ride in a boat on Tonle Sap Lake, Known as the "Great Lake" of Cambodia and one of the largest in Asia. During the short cruise you be able to observe life on the water as you pass by floating villages complete with schools, restaurants, and hospitals.

1500h: Depart for the South Gate at Angkor Thom and climb aboard an Elephant to take for a short trip to Bayon Temple. Built in the late 12th or early 13th century, Bayon Temple is very known, mainly due to the level of decoration which adorns the temple. The temple is also decorated with many faces carved into the stone of the towers.

1630h: Return to Siem Reap

Overnight in Siem Reap

Day 8: Siem Reap – Departure

Relax and enjoy some extra time in Siem Reap until the driver will pick you up from your hotel to the international airport .
